‘Giving Comfort’: Quilts for Child Refugees

A team of eleven volunteers (DP students, parents and staff members) made 22 quilts, to create something practical and comforting for Ukrainian refugee children arriving in Maastricht!

Each quilt features a Sint Servaas Bridge pattern (by local designer Olivia Bertus) to signify the link with Maastricht and a journey between two places. The team also chose quilts, because they were made in the USA and Canada during the Second World War and sent by the Red Cross to civilians in Europe.
