Legacy for girls’ education

UWC Maastricht has recently received a remarkable legacy. A substantial gift is set to create lasting change by providing scholarships for girls, ensuring that young women from around the world have access to quality education and the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

The legacy, left by an elderly lady who didn’t have the opportunity to study herself, reflects the belief that education is a transformative force capable of breaking down barriers and empowering individuals to build a brighter future. Her generous act of philanthropy will resonate for generations to come as it becomes a beacon of hope for girls who might otherwise have faced limited educational opportunities. The first female student thanks to this legacy has recently joined UWC Maastricht and we look forward to welcoming many more the upcoming years!

This donor, who wanted to stay anonymous, wasn’t only very generous and engaged, she was also artistically talented! She made a very relevant bronze work of art, which you can see in the picture.
