A decade ago, an Israeli and a Palestinian student came together with a bold idea: peace is possible, even in the face of conflict. From that belief, UWCM’s International Peace Conference (IPC) was born, uniting people to foster dialogue, understanding and reconciliation.

Yesterday, as we marked 10 years of IPC, our students, staff and guests explored the theme: Kintsugi – The Art of Healing. Just as the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi turns broken pottery into something even stronger and more beautiful, we reflected on how the fractures in our world can be a starting point for unity and peace. Organized by students, IPC 2025 brought together speeches on human rights and conflict resolution, as well as workshops with organizations like Doctors Without Borders and an escape room, showing how education can be a powerful tool for peace and a sustainable future: the very heart of UWC’s mission
