Fernande van Tets

Fernande van Tets studied Arabic and political science at the University of Amsterdam and completed a master’s degree in War Studies at King’s College in London. She was previously stationed in Lebanon, from where she wrote about the Middle East for De Groene Amsterdammer, The Independent, Trouw, NRC Handelsblad and Het Parool, among others.
She also worked for the United Nations in Syria during the war. About this she has written Four Seasons in Damascus (2020). Nowadays she covers developments in the Arab world from her hometown of Amsterdam.
