Diploma Programme

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is an academically challenging and balanced education for students aged 16 to around 19, preparing you for university and life beyond. Whether you’re a day student living locally or a residential student from around the world, this programme will equip you for success.

As part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) network, a nonprofit organization, the programme ensures you receive a world-class education, giving you the tools to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

Curriculum

You will follow a broad-based academic curriculum designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to prepare for life after UWC. You will choose six subjects from different academic areas and also complete three core elements.

Beyond the Classroom

At UWC Maastricht, you will have access to a wide range of co- and extra-curricular programmes. From sports and creativity clubs to music lessons and service projects, as well as student-led initiatives, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop leadership and collaboration skills. You will also engage in meaningful activities that connect you with both the school and the wider Maastricht community.

Apply

We welcome both residential and day students to our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Residential students should apply through the UWC International Office or their country’s National Committee, while day students can apply directly to our school, up to one year before the start date and no later than 1 October.

Residences

200 Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme students, aged 16 to around 18, live on campus, housed in our residence buildings. You’ll live in small groups, with four students sharing a bedroom. The UWC Maastricht experience extends beyond school hours, with you and your peers coming together in the Mensa for breakfast and dinner and engaging in a variety of activities that foster community and personal growth.

Fees

UWC Maastricht relies on parental fees to offer its robust educational programme. The school fee for the Diploma Programme is €12.090 for day students (school year 2025-2026). If you wish to apply as a residential Diploma Programme student, please contact UWC International for more information. Scholarships are available for this track.
