UWC Maastricht is unique within the movement as the only school operating within a national public school funding context, educating students from pre-school through the International Baccalaureate programme. At the IB diploma level, we recruit residential students of demonstrated promise and potential through the UWC National Committee network to join our day student community for the final two years of high school.
In 2009, the Foundation UWCM, LVO and Mosa Lira joined forces as ‘founding partners’ to establish an international school United World College Maastricht. The school started at a temporary location for day students aged 2-18 and a first international cohort of boarders for the IB programme arrived in September 2010. UWCM moved to its own new campus in August 2013.
The school is intent on developing cutting edge education based on the UWC Mission statement: ‘UWC makes education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future’. The values it promotes include:

Purpose
According to its statutes, the Foundation United World College Maastricht aims to participate in the cooperative “Coöperatieve Vereniging United World College Maastricht U.A.”, to support past, present and future students of UWCM, and to contribute to the development of United World Colleges worldwide.
